Southern Tennessee sees its share of weather events that damage roofs. Severe thunderstorms bring high winds that can lift and dislodge panels, pull flashing, and damage ridge caps. Hail ranges from nuisance-level to impact-causing depending on stone size. Tornado activity, while not a weekly event, does occur in the region, and even the wind field of a passing storm can cause significant roof damage without the full tornado. Fallen trees and large branches cause the most structurally serious roof damage—these can penetrate the decking and require both roofing and structural repair.
After a significant storm, it’s worth having your roof inspected even if you don’t see obvious damage from the ground. Wind damage to exposed fastener panels often starts as a lifted edge that isn’t visible until you get on the roof. Hail damage to metal panels is usually cosmetic but worth assessing to determine whether any functional damage occurred. We provide written documentation of what we find—useful if you’re filing an insurance claim.

Yes. Individual panels, sections of flashing, and fasteners can be repaired or replaced without touching the rest of the roof, as long as the deck and surrounding material are in sound condition. Metal roofing is well-suited to targeted repairs because each panel is a discrete component that can be addressed independently.
Condensation typically forms on cold surfaces near HVAC equipment or in poorly ventilated attic spaces and produces fairly even, diffuse moisture that shows up in similar locations regardless of weather. A roof leak usually traces back to penetrations, valleys, flashing, or damaged areas and gets noticeably worse after rain events. We can inspect and identify the actual source.
Minor repairs—replacing a few panels, resealing flashing, fixing fasteners—typically do not require a permit. Repairs that involve structural work or replacement of a large area may. We’ll let you know upfront what applies to your specific repair.
